Smaller diameter barrels may reduce material costs but come with compromises such as reduced door height, limited headroom, and less comfortable seating posture. They also require users to duck when entering or exiting due to a tighter arc.
The ERGO Series Sauna Barrels feature a generous 6’5” interior height. This larger diameter allows for ergonomically contoured, form-fitting benches and an expansive arched backrest that provides true lumbar support. Interior seating is crafted from knot-free, silky-smooth Grade-A Thermo-Aspen, designed to comfortably accommodate most body sizes.

Thermo-Spruce wood lasts up to 2X longer than Cedar. Each SaunaLife barrel is built with industry-leading 1.65” thick full-length staves that fully encapsulate the sauna, providing exceptional thermal resistance (R-value).
This eco-friendly, chemical-free wood is highly dimensionally stable and ideal for outdoor sauna environments. Its strength is so reliable it is even used in shower construction.
The ERGO Series emphasizes material thickness throughout, including Thermo-Aspen benches and backrests (1.1” thick and 3-1/2” wide), nearly 50% thicker than most alternatives.

Despite its simple appearance, the ERGO-Series is engineered with advanced barrel sauna innovation.
It features industry-leading 1-7/8” wide and 1/8” thick stainless steel barrel bands that tightly compress the massive staves to form a durable wellness structure.
A watertight DIY shingle roof kit with side-mounted drip edges ensures effective rainwater management. Inside, dual floor drains are strategically placed—one under the sauna heater for water tossing, and another near the door for cold plunge or pool water runoff.
Even if the barrel shifts out of level, the dual drain system ensures reliable water management.
Illumination – Inside and Out
Lighting enhances both ambiance and visual appeal of the sauna. The SaunaLife system uses low-voltage, waterproof LED lighting designed specifically for sauna environments.
The white LED lighting system is Wi-Fi app-based, allowing users to set the perfect mood before entering. A handheld remote provides on/off and dimming control.
The system is IP67-rated (heat and water certified) and produces a dotless, even glow. It can be expanded up to four white fixtures.
Optional upgrades include the E Sconce+ Package with two outdoor LED wall sconces and an additional interior LED light bar, or the E MOOD Lighting Package for color-based ambiance effects.

SaunaLife uses premium Nordic Spruce, kiln-dried to a rich golden tone that highlights its natural grain and tight-knot rustic appearance.
